How to make Apple Basundi

  • Step 1 Boil milk in a pan

    To prepare this dish bring the milk to a boil in a thick-bottomed non-stick pan.

  • Step 2 Reduce the milk to half

    Reduce the flame and cook for approximately 25 minutes (till the volume is reduced to half), while stirring occasionally. Then add in the saffron strands.

  • Step 3 Add some sugar-free pellets

    Add 3 grams of sugar free pellets and cook on a low flame for nearly 15 minutes (or till the milk thickens like rabdi), stirring continuously.

  • Step 4 Add cardamom

    Now add cardamom powder and cook over a low flame for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the flame and let it cool.

  • Step 5 Cook the apples

    Take a small non-stick pan and heat it. Add the grated apple, 1 gram of sugar-free pellet, and 2 tablespoon of water. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Step 6 Add in some chia seeds and garnish with nuts

    Remove from flame, when cool add it to the milk mixture with soaked chia seeds. Serve chilled, garnished with sliced almonds and pistachios and enjoy
