  • Step 1 Roast the peanuts

Add peanuts to a pan and dry roast until their colour changes to slightly brown. It will roughly take 5-6 minutes. Switch off the flame and collect peanuts on a plate. Rub the peanuts between your hands to remove the skin.

  • Step 2 Grind the peanuts

Add peanuts to a blender and grind them to make a fine powder. Now sieve the powder to make it finer. Mix in milk powder with the peanut powder.

  • Step 3 Prepare sugar syrup

Add 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to a pan. Bring to a boil and let it simmer till it thickens a bit and reaches one-string consistency.

  • Step 4 Mix peanut powder with syrup

Now add peanut powder to the sugar syrup and mix well to make a smooth mixture. Stir continuously and cook the mixture for 5 minutes. Now switch off the flame.

  • Step 5 Knead the mixture

Now take a butter paper and grease it with ghee. Pour the mixture on the paper and knead it with the help of the butter paper itself. Fold the paper and press the dough. Repeat this step till the mixture holds shape and attains the texture of a dough.

  • Step 6 Make katlis

Now place the dough on the butter paper and flatten it a bit by pressing with your hands. Place another butter paper on it. Use a rolling pin to flatten it and make a sheet. The thickness should be similar to a barfi. Cut the sheet into katlis.

  • Step 7 Ready to be served

Your Peanut Katlis are now ready to be served. Enjoy!
